Earlier this month, iiola (formerly Shannon Saunders) released her new single "Sickly Sweet", quickly notching up six-figure streaming numbers (an impressive feat considering it's only her second single under the new moniker). Today, she's following that up with some rich and ornate visuals for the track, ahead of the release of the EP that bore it, Chrysalis.

The change-up in alias comes after 10 years of releasing music under her own name, as well as penning hits for other artists along the way. While her work under her own name often packed a club-friendly production, "Sickly Sweet" and predecessor "Don't Shut Me Up" suggest her work as iiola will be a little slower and probably better suited to your headphones than a stack of speakers in a club (which is probably a good thing given the subject matter of this new one).

In her own words, "Sickly Sweet" is about "that horrendous stomach-dropping jealousy you feel when you see somebody you used to date happily moving on with somebody else. It's a bittersweet, physically sickening feeling. I think a lot of us can relate to that one, no matter how amicable the break-up is."
