With MIST expanding his empire—sinking his teeth into the TV world with projects like his petrolhead show Gassed Up, for example—he’s been a little quiet on the music front over the past couple of years. Now, after a surprise appearance on “Drip Drip” from Steel Banglez’s The Playlist, MIST returns with a new track of his own—“Money Moves” with fellow Brum rapper M1llionz—and the promise of more new music to come.

Backed by production from Swifta Beater, Mac Shooter and Louis Yung, the pair go back and forth about watching Traffic Cops for car chase tips and balancing their old lives with the much more sanitised world they find themselves in today.

Not surprisingly, KC Locke’s visuals finds the two hurtling through country lanes and backroads, dodging whoever’s on their tail, breaking every known traffic law. “Money Moves” comes after some online chatter about who holds the title of king of Birmingham rap, with both MIST and M1llionz staking their claim. But rather than dropping disses or forming some fake rap beef, they have come together for a future Brum anthem.
