“Miss you and dat smile cuz. #Tavon,” the singer and business mogul captioned the postincluded, which included several image of her and her cousin together over the years, as well as some of just him.

According to ET Online, Alleyne was murdered in Barbados by an unidentified man when he was walking by his home. Rihanna’s cousin would later die in the hospital from his injuries. Alleyne was 21-years-old. After the murder, Barbados Today reported that 23-year-old Shawayne DaShawn Williams of St. Michael, Barbados, was charged during his first court appearance. The outlet did not specify what Williams’ motive might have been.

Immediately following the murder four years ago, Rihanna shared a heartfelt message to her Instagram mourning her cousin and calling to end gun violence.

“RIP cousin… can’t believe it was just last night that I held you in my arms! never thought that would be the last time I felt the warmth in your body!!! Love you always man! ???❤ #endgunviolence,” she wrote at the time.
