“Gravity” is a romantic record in which Brent Faiyaz and Tyler, the Creator explore relationships and the magnetic pull they feel towards their loved ones over a soothing DJ Dahi-produced beat. The song features warped vocals: “She hold me down like gravity/ We on front page of them blogs/ Would you be mad at me if the whole world knew shit we was on? It would be tragedy.” “Gravity” arrives after the success of Brent Faiyaz’s sophomore album, Fuck the World, which dropped in February 2020.

On “Kanye Krazy,” Lil Durk sounds sentimental as he raps over melodic piano keys and reflects on his troubled relationship with someone. Though he discusses the mistakes that both of them made in the past, he also looks for redemption. “I fucked up so many times, would you bless me again?/ You went through what I went through, you would feel desperate to win,” he spits. On the chorus, he compares himself to Kanye West, who has been known to break out into rants. “I’m goin’ Kanye crazy,” Durk sings. The song was rolled out with a Cole Bennett-directed music video in which Durk recreates moments from Kanye’s career.

Two corners of the drill movement collide. On “Burner on Deck,” British rapper Fredo links with Young Adz and the late Pop Smoke. The record is a bass-heavy song with throbbing instrumentals and an eerie sound. On the track, the trio inflict fear into their opponents and listeners, as they discuss a variety of topics from gunplay, to making money, and their lavish lifestyles. “We hop out and spark 'em/ Shoot up the scenery/ Dip off and change the artillery/ I do not play with no enemy/ Because they tryna get rid of me,” Pop Smoke sings. Staten Island rapper CJ is looking to recreate some of the magic from his breakout record “Whoopty.” On “Bop,” CJ raps over a drill beat, courtesy of producer AN. CJ throws in quotable lines about his newfound fame, wealth, and the women he attracts. “I’m feelin’ groovy/ Hittin my phone, like, Baby come do me/ We makin’ a movie,” he raps. CJ previously revealed “Whoopty” was his first attempt at the drill sound. But his latest release suggests he is plotting to take over the drill scene now.

“Hopprock” begins with audio recording from an answering machine. Shortly after, the beat cuts in and takes listeners on a wild ride through space with pulsating rhythms and exploding notes. “Hopprock” is primarily an instrumental record. The only lyrics that are audible are the ones from a soft indie sample used in the background. The song appears on Madlib and Four Tet’s new collaborative album Sound Ancestors
