October is winding down, but there are enough new music releases to get us through the rest of the month. Ariana Grande is back with her first single, “Positions,” from her upcoming album, which is due October 30. Ty Dolla Sign recruited an ensemble cast for “Track 6” off his new album, Featuring Ty Dolla Sign. And Saweetie and Jhene Aiko joined forces for their cocky anthem, “Back to the Streets.” This week’s list also includes new tunes from Jack Harlow, Rico Nasty, Dej Loaf, and more.

Ariana Grande is back. On “Positions,” she pledges her commitment to making her relationship work. With sweet-sounding vocals, she runs through the different roles she is willing to play within her relationship. “Switchin’ the positions for you/ Cookin’ in the kitchen and I’m in the bedroom/ I’m in the Olympics, way I’m jumpin’ through hoops,” she sings. Although “Positions” is a safe first single from Grande, it should get fans excited about her album, which is only a week away.

Ty Dolla Sign f/ Kanye West, Anderson .Paak, & Thundercat “Track 6”

“Track 6” is a moody record with booming bass. Ty Dolla Sign is in bag, providing sultry and raspy vocals over chilling production while Thundercat’s electronic harmonies ring in the background. Kanye’s contribution is minimal, but he sounds good, adding ad-libs in the right places. And Anderson .Paak finishes the track off with a funky outro. “Track 6” is a standout from Ty Dolla’s latest project, Featuring Ty Dolla Sign

Saweetie f/ Jhene Aiko, “Back to the Streets”

On “Back to the Streets,” Saweetie slows things down as she sings about her leaving an ex behind to pursue new and better options. “I put my new man on a leash/ Traded in my old nigga, he was just a lease,” she sings softly. Jhené Aiko chimes in on the third verse, dropping cocky lines about moving on. “I’m a player ass bitch, and you knew it/ Had a good time, now I’m ready for some new dick,” she sings. Saweetie and Jhené definitely compliment each other on their latest collab. 

Michael Christmas, “Nissan Altima”

“Nissan Altima” is an easy-going record made for cruising. Michael Christmas floats over laid back-production courtesy of Tee-WaTT and Thelonious Martin, rapping about his “two-door black coupe.” “And maybe we could vibe in it/ I hate the word ‘vibe’ bitches love it, this the times, ain’t it?” He adds. “Nissan Altima” is believed to be a single from Michael Christmas’ forthcoming album, so be on the lookout for more music that’s on the way.

Jack Harlow, “Tyler Herro”

After finding massives success with “Whats Poppin,” Jack Harlow is back with his latest single “Tyler Herro.” The track includes sweeping production anchored by flutes, and the song’s title and lyrics pay homage to Harlow’s friend and NBA player, Tyler Herro. On the track, he raps, “My homeboy Tyler, he play in South Beach/ He told me this summer he gon fix my jumper.” In addition to more NBA references, Harlow also touches on some of the hate he’s received from critics. 

DeJ Loaf f/ 42 Dugg & Sada Baby, “Tap In”

“Tap In” is a hype song that finds DeJ Loaf energetically rapping over Budda Bless production. “Come to my city you tap in, no, don’t get your backend/ Most of these niggas be cappin’, we gon bring the racks in,” she spits. 42 Dugg snaps on his verse with Auto-Tuned vocals, singing, “They still chasin’ that clout, I’m still servin my route/ I just ordered a thousand, thumb that shit under my couch.” Sada Baby also fits in, switching from aggressive raps to mellow singing. “Tap In” is the clear standout from DeJ’s debut studio album, Sell Sole II.  

Chase B f/ OMB Bloodbath & KenTheMan, “For Me”

“For Me” is a bouncy record where Chase B, OMB Bloodbath, and KenTheMan spit about what they like. Bloodbath and KenTheMan have saucy and confident deliveries, as they trade bars about the things in a relationship that get them hype. “It be the blues for me, purses and shoes for me/ Even though I’m just tryna get to know ya/ What you gon do for me?” KenTheMan raps. “For Me” is the latest collaboration from Chase B that might appear on his long-rumored album. 

Rico Nasty f/ Gucci Mane & Don Toliver, “Don’t Like Me”

“Don’t Like Me” is the record you dance to when you find yourself surrounded by a clique of people who act weird when they’re around you. On the track, Rico Nasty sings about her haters, but she doesn’t seem to be bothered. Instead, she sounds entertained, rapping, “These bitches don’t like me” as a chant. Gucci Mane joins in on the fun, dropping bars about his icy crew, while Don Toliver adds harmony on the chorus. “Don’t Like Me” is expected to appear on Rico Nasty’s upcoming album, Nightmare Vacation.
