A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie Addresses Record Low Album Sales: 'I Don't Give a F*ck Because I Just Went Brazy'

A Boogie stopped by 'Everyday Struggle' to address having the lowest record sales ever recorded by a No. 1 album.

While a No. 1 album is usually something to celebrate, A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie took time away from counting his accomplishments to address the comments surrounding his chart-topping sophomore album's historically low record sales.

"It sound like they trying to discredit me. I'mma keep it a buck," The Bronx rapper told the cast of Complex's Everyday Struggleon Tuesday (Jan 15.). "But at the same time it's like, I don't give a fuck because I just went brazy."

A Boogie's comments came a day after his latest LP HOODIE SZN was crowned the country's No. 1 album. However, this throne was accompanied by a dubious statistic. With just 823 physical copies sold, HOODIE SZN was the lowest selling album to ever gain the title. This drew attention away from the fact A Boogie secured his first every No. 1 album and put the spotlight on how streams are calculated and the current nature of music consumption. Yet, when the talk is not centered solely on one's innovation it is easy to assume that the media is slighting your success.

"I did 90 units the first week. 50 something the second week. 50 something again, same number," A Boogie said before explaining that his numbers will always be consistent because he focuses on making timeless music. "You can't deny real music — like real music — you can't deny that shit. That shit gonna live forever, for real for real. And a lot of songs on this album are forever lasting."

Aside from the focus on album sales and statistics, A Boogie's trajectory as an artist is undeniable. At around the 7:30 mark, he revealed he's working on HOODIE SZN follow-up, and the title might be called Artist Sporano. "I'm doing a lot of little samples with artists that I like," referencing the fact that he's fan of Mary J. Blige.
