Beloved Canadian alternative hip-hop artist and CBC Music host Buck 65 is making his return to live performing after several years in semi-retirement.

The show is going down tonight at Blk_Space Studios on Queen Street West in Toronto.

“Buck 65 will be hitting the stage to perform some classic material and some new stuff with old friends! Going to be a jam packed night!” says the Eventbrite page.

Tachichi, Noah 23, Druncness Monster from Len, and Everfresh are on the bill, with more special guests promised. Uncle Buck himself has been mum about the comeback gig, but Noah23 took to Twitter to promote the show.

Earlier this year, it seemed Buck was just about done with music, saying on his Bandcamp he was “emptying the vaults” and had a new album, but was “not back” and “not playing shows.” Sure enough, he dropped new album King of Drums in June.

The Nova Scotia-born, baseball-loving Buck 65 has had a long career in Canadian rap starting in the 1990s. Some of his biggest releases came in the 2000s: albums Man Overboard and Talkin’ Honky Blues. He celebrated 20 years in the business in 2011 with new material on 20 Odd Years.

Single “Wicked and Weird” especially was on repeat on MuchMusic in its day. Buck and Tachichi will also be playing songs from their collaborative album Flash Grenade.
