Lady Gagaâs highly anticipated album Joanne is coming pretty soon. To get us even more excited, she has shared the official video for her '80s throwback record âPerfect Illusion.â
Directed by Andrea Gelardin and Ruth Hogben, Gagaâs energy is overflowing throughout the entire clip. It begins with her belting the song to a rowdy crowd. Later, sheâs in a jeep driving off in the desert somewhere, stopping only to interpret her emotions when the chorus hits. As night falls, she gathers her bandmatesâwhich include Tame Impalaâs Kevin Parker and Grammy Award-winning DJ and producer Mark Ronsonâto jam out so insanely that everyone around them looks like they are having the time of their lives.
During a recent appearance on Zane Loweâs Beats 1 Radio show, Gaga explained why she decided to name her album after her aunt, who died of lupus when she was 19. Â Joanne is also her middle name.
âThe day that the album comes out will be such a day of healing for me and my family,â Gaga said. âI feel like [Joanneâs] getting to live the rest of the life that she never got to."
Gaga also revealed the artwork last week, which you can check out below. Her fifth studio album comes out on Oct. 21.
