Well, here's something we've been waiting to hear more about for a minute. We've been up on Basenji since the first 50 Under 5000 piece we did and been souped as hell ever since we heard he formally linked with Future Classic. "Heirloom" recently hit the world for free, and it's definitely nice. Like, it's totally going to do well and further the legend this kid is starting to become. The second half is really the super tasty part but it just doesn't have the WOW factor for me like "Dawn" and "Speak With A Dofflin" did less than a year ago. And that's got me kind of bummed. Maybe this sound (and I'm completely referring to this in an overall genre type of sense) is running it's course and wearing thin. Might be time for these kids to really look into developing it more. Basenji is one of those true talents to me that's more than capable of writing a whole new chapter for this sound and one can only hope there's more to come from him very soon.
