The Spice Girls kicked off their reunion tour sans Victoria 'Posh Spice' Beckham in Dublin, Ireland on Friday night, but it didn't go without issues. Variety reports that sound issues plagued the night. Those who sat further away from the stage struggled to make out what songs were even playing. Numerous patrons posted on Twitter to make it clear they were not too pleased.

Be great if someone could tell the sound people at Spice Girls that the audience can't hear them... 🙄 #spicegirls #spiceworld #crokepark still great to see the girls in action.

The #spicegirls put on a fabulous show tonight. But am really surprised that nobody seems to be talking about how poor the sound was. Could hardly make out the words they were saying at times. Was worst sound I’ve ever heard at a concert pic.twitter.com/UnKsi3B4Wo

There’s something wrong when the crowd at @spicegirls concert are all sitting down because no one has a clue what song is on because the sound really is THAT bad. @mcd_productions @CrokePark @IrishTimes @LovinDublin #SpiceWorldTour #SpiceGirl pic.twitter.com/QkENc7BJ8Y

In a message posted to her Instagram Story, Mel 'Scary Spice' B addressed the issues. "Thank you for attending our show tonight in Dublin," she said in the candid video. "We will see you in Cardiff and hopefully the vocals and sound will be much, much better."

However, they did start the show with a positive note on inclusivity. "We welcome all ages, all races, all gender identifies, all countries of origin, all sexual orientations, all religions and beliefs, all abilities," they explained. Late on, Geri 'Ginger Spice' Halliwell Horner added, "Like a king or a queen, we celebrate you. But I’ve got to say, there are a lot of queens here tonight."Daily Mail also added that the group bought tequila shots for the entire production crew after the show.

Some fans walked away more pleased with the performance, although it's not clear if refunds will be issued for those that had issues with the sound.
