The artist formerly known as Kanye West has reportedly been in contact with Sean "Diddy" Combs’ family regarding his interest in possibly showing up to support the disgraced mogul during his federal trial.

According to CNN, citing a source "close to Combs", Ye—who is currently in New York City—would like to attend to show support for Diddy, who is on trial for sex trafficking and racketeering. The Chicago rapper has been one of the few celebrities to publicly back the disgraced mogul since his arrest last September.

The outlet also reported that Ye contacted Diddy's son, Christian “King” Combs, about the idea of attending the trial with the Combs family. The sourced added that Ye and Christian are currently working on music together.

The source also told CNN that Ye could attend the trial once the defense begins its presentation. The prosecution has reportedly said it plans to wrap up as early as next week.

During Diddy’s federal trial this week, an alleged victim referred to as “Jane” testified about a January 2024 trip to Las Vegas with a famous male rapper and his girlfriend, briefly shifting focus away from Combs. The trip was reportedly to celebrate the girlfriend’s birthday.

Ye has publicly shown support for Sean “Diddy” Combs amid the mogul’s federal charges. Back in March, the rapper went on a spree of posting and deleting a series of disturbing tweets, including antisemitic and hateful remarks, praise for Hitler, and troubling claims about his personal life. Among the posts, he pleaded with Donald Trump to free Diddy—whom he called his “brother”—and released a Sean John collection on his Yeezy site as a show of solidarity.
