A black Cadillac Escalade registered to YG has reportedly been involved in a deadly shootout and chase with the police in Compton. ABC 7 reports that authorities investigated a shooting in Compton that involved a deputy, and the investigation led to a pursuit that ended in Inglewood.

The rapper told TMZ he was not involved in the incident: "I was nowhere near the scene of this incident and had been in a recording studio all day in Hollywood," he said. "I was there until after midnight on the Fourth of July and didn't learn of these events until after they happened."

YG's representative told the outlet his legal team was in contact with law enforcement.

Detectives responded to a report of a DUI suspect at 11:35 p.m. on Wednesday, and when they got there, a shootout took place. Authorities believe that the man killed at the scene was an innocent bystander who was caught in the crossfire. A pursuit soon followed, with more shots fired at deputies during the chase. The Sheriff's helicopter was fired at as he followed the chase, but not hit. One of the patrol cars involved in the chase received multiple gunshots to the windshield, with one deputy treated and released after sustaining minor injuries from a gunshot wound.

The suspect's vehicle reportedly had "aftermarket bulletproof glass." One suspect is still outstanding, while another has been detained. As of right now, it has not been made known whether YG was one of the suspects. One of his affiliates Slim 400 was shot in Los Angeles on June 29; he is currently expected to make a full recovery.
