French production four-piece La Fine Equipe are readying themselves for their new album, Fifth Season (due April 19), by sharing the project's latest single, "Fonk Jedi" with Brainfeeder signee Georgia Ann Muldrow and Stones Throw rapper Declaime. The result of their six-way team-up is a heady and intoxicating track that twists and turns in the most surprising ways. Just when you think you've got to grips with the combination of Muldrow's disarming vocals, Declaime's playful rhymes and LFE's dense production, someone throws in a curveball. It does, thankfully, stop just short of being overwhelming, instead giving the listener a psychedelic, funk-filled reason to hit the dancefloor.
