For those familiar with Electric Punanny—the DJ-turned-production duo made up of Jasmine Solano and MeLo-X—are used to hearing blended sounds from across the globe inspired by dancehall, afrobeats, hip-hop, R&B, and more. And for those who are not yet familiar, it's time to change that. Early last year, the duo released an instantly infectious single titled "Tiger Eye" with London-based artist Donae'o.
On its own, "Tiger Eye" is an attention-grabbing single with a slow building rhythm that soon blossoms into the lovechild of a house and hip-hop records. The visuals help take it to the next level. textile designer Uzumaki provided faux fur set design while Bianca Bailey styled the video bringing eclectic designers into the wardrobe to pull the vibrant video all together.
Before the beat fully builds, Donae'o stands strong, front and center as MeLo-X and Solano look as if they figuratively and literally have his back behind him. Electric Punanny is always aiming to get people dancing, but this time around MeLo and Solano can be seen joining in on the moves thanks to choreography Jamari "Balmain" Amour.
