BBC 1Xtra DJ and self-professed "voice of the streets", Kenny Allstar today releases his new album, Block Diaries, a showcase compilation of the underground voices currently making their mark across the UK.

On host duties throughout the album, the unlikely pairing of Mike Skinner and Not3s join Kenny for the intro, "Love The Game", outlining the project's apparent themes of passion and persistence. A mixture of drill, Afroswing, and trap ("the sound of young London," according to Kenny), Allstar's affinity for hard-edged rap comes to the fore repeatedly with the strongest cuts coming from Headie One, Suspect, K-Trap and 67 and K-Trap.

The 17-track project was also released in tandem with a documentary film by rising filmmaker Nathan Miller. You can watch that above and stream Block Diaries below.
