Cardi B Talks About Her Breaking Point in the Nicki Minaj Beef

In a new interview with 'W' magazine, Cardi B has revealed when the rising tension between her and Nicki Minaj reached its climax.

In a new interview with W magazine, Cardi B revealed when the rising tension between her and Nicki Minaj reached its climax.

“For a while now she’s been taking a lot of shots at me,” Cardi said. “I spoke to her twice before, and we came to an understanding. But she kept it going.”

The breaking point for Cardi was when Minaj liked and then unliked a tweet that was a dig at Cardi’s mothering abilities. “I was going to make millions off my Bruno Mars tour, and I sacrificed that to stay with my daughter,” Cardi said in the interview. “I love my daughter. I’m a good-ass fucking mom. So for somebody that don’t have a child to like that comment? So many people want to say that party wasn’t the time or the place, but I’m not going to catch another artist in the grocery store or down the block.”

In early September, the two rappers engaged in a physical altercation at Harper’s Bazaar’s Icon party, where Cardi allegedly threw a shoe at Minaj. The incident confirmed the rumors of the lasting beef between the New York natives, causing Cardi to share a statement about Minaj’s alleged behavior prior to their confrontation.

“I've let a lot of shit slide! I let you sneak diss me, I let you lie on me, I let you attempt to stop my bags, fuck up the way I eat,” Cardi wrote. “You've threaten other artists in the industry, told them if they work with me you'll stop fuckin with them!! I let you talk big shit about me!!”

Last week, Minaj announced the release of her “Nicki Stopped My Bag” merch—a conspicuous reference to her ongoing feud with Cardi.
