For her 11th brithday, all Sofia wanted was to hang out with Drake and receive a new heart for a transplant. So last week, the OVO rapper himself stopped by Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital to pay his young fan a visit. Now, her second birthday wish is coming true: Sofia is getting a new heart.
In an emotional video, first posted to Facebook, Sofia’s mother surprises her daughter by sharing the news. “I’m getting a heart Mom?” a stunned Sofia asked, before breaking out into tears. Watch the heartwarming clip below.
Prior to Drake's visit, the hospital posted a video of Sofia doing the "In My Feelings" challenge. In another video, she asked Drizzy to come see her for her birthday weekend. "My birthday's this weekend, this Saturday, which your concert is this Saturday, and I love your music," she said. "I was hoping that you could come and cheer me up for my birthday or anytime this week."
Drake surprised Sofia in her hospital room, bringing her a Scorpion hat and posing for many, many selfies. Not only has Sofia now met the biggest rapper in the game, but she's also getting the life-saving surgery she needs. Shoutout to “God’s Plan.”
