Mystikal's bond has reportedly been set at $3 million after being indicted by a Caddo Parish, Louisiana grand jury on first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping charges. Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, was one of three men alleged to have been involved with an October 2016 assault at a casino in Shreveport, KSLA Newsreported Tuesday.
Last month, Mystikal turned himself in to the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Department and was subsequently arrested and charged. One week prior, TMZreported last month, police had issued a warrant for his arrest and had been unable to track him down. At the time, Mystikal's reps claimed the charges were "completely bogus."
Mystikal was approached by a KSLA News reporter at the Caddo Correctional Center last month, telling them he was turning himself in "to get this business rectified, to get this behind me, man." Averweone Darnell Holman, 26, and Tenichia Monieck Wafford, 42, were also indicted Tuesday. Holman was indicted on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping and had his bond set at $3 million, while Wafford was indicted on one count of obstruction of justice with a $500,000 bond.
The incident in question, Pitchforkreported, occurred when last year's Legends of Southern Hip-Hop Tour was in town. The tour included Mystikal, Juvenile, Trick Daddy, Pastor Troy, and more.
Back in 2003, Mystikal pleaded guilty to sexual battery and no contest to extortion in an unrelated incident. In January 2004, he was sentenced to six years in prison.
