The Hollywood Reporter announced on Tuesday night that Universal acquired an action-comedy movie about "a group of failed rappers who attempt to rob an eccentric hip-hop mogul." The script is by Alex Blagg and Neel Shah, and Kevin Hart has signed on to produce. The name of the film? Run the Jewels.

As anyone with even a passing familiarity with their oeuvre might expect, the members of the already-existing rap duo Run the Jewels did not take kindly to the news. RTJ member Jaime "El-P" Meline took to Twitter to announce his feelings about the new movie using his group's name.

One fan pointed out that El had floated the idea for a Run the Jewels movie years ago. "I meant for us," the rapper replied.

The announcement of the movie led to some understandable confusion among fans of the group.

Killer Mike pretty much had the perfect response when asked about his thoughts on the film:

@SameOldShawn WTH 😳
