Alex Young is growing up before our very eyes.  Today the 16-year old Washington, D.C.-bred producer/DJ has released his latest original release, "Mastermind."  The track is a departure from his previous efforts in that it's not trap in the slightest, but instead a peak time big room house banger.  "Mastermind" keeps Young's knack for emotive beats despite switching directions a bit as he serves up this ace track.  There's something pure and innocent, if not noble, about the opening melody giving the track a particularly cinematic quality. It's the sort of track you might hear as you ride your stallion off into the sunset to chase down your nemesis.

And maybe that's what Alex is doing.  So far Alex has made his name with a number of trap/bass originals and remixes, ascending through the internet ranks as one of the growing talents to watch in the bass scene.  With "Mastermind," Alex is making a statement and setting his sites on being a closing, peak time freeform artist.
