We received our first sampling of Ill Bill's star-studded new album, The Grimy Awards, last October when the Brooklyn rapper-producer dropped the El-P-featured "Severed Heads of State." Since then, his fans have awaited another preview of the project, which will feature production from DJ Premier, Large Professor, and Pete Rock.
The last of those living East Coast legends produced Bill's latest single, "Truth." It's an aptly titled cut boosted by Rock's rich layers of samples and head-nodding drums, which are used as a canvas for some raw, honest lyricism.
