Man Fatally Stabbed Over Dispute at Dave & Busters in Times Square

A man was fatally stabbed Saturday night after getting in a dispute with another man at the prize-ticket counter at Dave & Busters in Times Square.

The New York Post reports police responded to the sports bar around 11 p.m. regarding a dispute in progress. Upon arrival, authorities found a 39-year-old man with a stab wound. The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

“They were in the prize redemption area and they got into a verbal dispute,” a police source told the outlet. “This is based on a security video.”

“He stabs the victim in the chest and then takes off,” the source added.

The victim’s attacker, whose identity has not been released, fled the scene. He was subsequently arrested after a restaurant employee described him to police “and one of the Times Square [NYPD] details stopped a guy fitting the description,” sources confirmed.

The attack comes as crime continues to rise in New York City, with authorities reporting that crime skyrocketed 44 percent in April.

“The rising recidivism in New York City is up substantially from 2019,” Michael Lipetri, chief of the NYPD’s Crime Control Strategies, told Fox News. “The data is clear and simple. Individuals that continue to get arrested multiple times continue and continue to commit these crimes.”
