A plastic surgeon who injured at least three patients while documenting procedures on TikTok is now an ex-plastic surgeon after having her license permanently revoked in Ohio, the Washington Post reports.
Per listings on the official State Medical Board of Ohio site, Katharine Roxanne Grawe’s permanent revocation was confirmed this week. In addition to longer being able to practice medicine and surgery in the state, Grawe—also known as Dr. Roxy on social media—is required to pay a $4,500 fine within 30 days of the revocation order’s effective date.
“Dr. Roxy claims that this will change her life forever, but she has single-handedly forever changed the lives of at least three people," board member Dr. Jonathan Feibel said in reference to patients who were inappropriately treated or whose treatment was not adequately documented.
Grawe’s “lack of professionalism” and “poor judgment” resulted in her practice “falling below the standards of care,” Feibel said in the footage above.
Addressing the board, Grawe claimed she shared the footage in question out of a desire to spur smiles.
“Sometimes I did silly or fun videos simply to make people smile in this world which is often negative and difficult to navigate,” Grawe said.
Previously, Grawe was advised to “maintain patient privacy” when sharing social media updates. In November of last year, she was hit with a suspension. A July 12-dated letter from the board states Grawe’s license was issued in November 2009. Her practice included work on breasts, abs, butts, thighs, and arms.
On TikTok, Grawe was known as @doctorroxy; at the time of this writing, however, the account appeared to have been removed.
