Get ready, folks. A french fry shortage may be upon us.

Thanks to awfully cold and wet weather in the United States and Canada, potato crops had difficulty growing, according to Bloomberg. Potato processors are doing their best to make sure we can enjoy fries despite the cool weather conditions take our major suppliers.

โ€œFrench fry demand has just been outstanding lately, and so supplies canโ€™t meet the demand,โ€ Idaho Potato Commission's Travis Blacker told the news outlet.

According to a report from the United Potato Growers of Canada, the potato crop this year took a significant blow. It is considered to have taken a hit of about three billion pounds than last year, a massive loss. Oregon experienced a production fall of about 16 percent, while North Dakota saw an 11.8 percent fall. A few states, Michigan, Maine and Wisconsin, experienced production increases, however.

โ€œItโ€™s a manageable situation,โ€ Kevin MacIsaac of the United Potato Growers of Canada told Bloomberg. โ€œPotatoes are going to have to move from one channel to another that they sometimes donโ€™t move in a normal year.โ€

Some Twitter users reacted to the awful news.

It's reported that there's a severe potato shortage impacting the french fry market due to heavy wetness of crop fields in the U.S. and Canada. In other news, Five Guys just announced that you'll actually get the size of fries that you ordered and they're now starting at $9
