A Missouri couple found themselves in handcuffs over the weekend, but it’s their license plate that’s turning some heads.

The male driver and an unnamed passenger were stopped by law enforcement officers after attempting to flee from a routine traffic stop. The situation escalated into a pursuit and authorities noticed the vanity plate reading “WE-HIGH” on the Land Rover after the vehicle eventually stopped.

“A good way to avoid the attention of law enforcement while driving is not to flee from a traffic stop and not have a license plate that says ‘WE HIGH,’” shared Clay County, Missouri Sheriff’s office in a statement on Facebook along with a photo of the license plate. “It was a tough lesson learned by a couple this weekend who were eventually arrested by a Claycomo Police Department officer and one of our deputies.”

According to a report by KCTV, the sheriff’s office says the case is still under investigation and the two individuals arrested have not been charged with any crimes.
