Long gone are the glory days of the iPod. With every iPhone upgrade, Apple turns our phones into multi-purpose tools ready to fulfill our every need.

The iPod Classic, the iPod Nano, and the iPod Shuffle are a thing of the past, as are most classic MP3 players. And while the iPod Touch remains the sole air to the iPod legacy, it hasn’t been updated since 2015, as Apple turns its attention to overhauling its phones and iPads.

But if the rumors are true, that could be changing soon. Apple savants Macotakara, as pointed out by Gizmodo, report the iPod could be seeing a huge revamp in 2019. The move seems to be a way for Apple to funnel customers toward its streaming service Apple Music and iTunes. The current 2015 version of the iPod sells at $199 with 32GB of storage, and is among one of Apple’s cheapest products.

If the iPods do come out this year, it’ll certainly be a busy time for the tech giant, as rumors are also circulating that three new iPhones could drop this year. As the Wall Street Journalreported earlier this month, the new smartphones will come equipped with “three rear camera lenses,” with more wallet-friendly versions having a “dual-lens camera."

There's also reportedly a massive iPhone redesign in the works, but we'll have to wait until 2020 to see what's in store.
