A new take on the heavily memed AirPods has been unveiled.
Monday, Apple announced the launch of its new AirPods Pro, with online ordering now available ahead of an in-store release date of Oct. 30. The new devices come complete with silicone ear tips in three different sizes, adaptive EQ, a pressure-equalizing vent system, sweat and water resistance, active noise cancellation capabilities, and more.
In a statement Monday, Phil Schiller—Apple's senior VP of worldwide marketing—said the new version of the hugely popular AirPods sees the brand "taking the magic even further" with improvements in design and usability.
"The new in-ear AirPods Pro sound amazing with Adaptive EQ, fit comfortably with flexible ear tips, and have innovative Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode," Schiller said. "We think customers are going to love this new addition to the AirPods family."
The AirPods Pro start at $249, while the previously available AirPods-and-charging-case and AirPods-and-wireless-charging-case packages are now $159 and $199, respectively. All three versions can have engraving added for free via the Apple site and/or the Apple Store app.
In a matter of days, Apple will unveil its latest multi-platform push with the arrival of Apple TV+. The service launches Nov. 1 and will run you just $5 a month, with announced projects thus including the Aaron Paul-starring Truth Be Told (out Dec. 6) and Dickinson starring Hailee Steinfeld (out on app release day).
