An idiotic attempt at comparing a former reality TV personality and the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. received the perfect response during a recent CNN segment. Jeffrey Lord, a former member of the Reagan administration who now spends his time Skyping gobbledygook onto CNN, attempted to equate Trump's efforts to destroy the Affordable Care Act with Dr. King's fight for civil rights. Thankfully, activist Symone Sanders shut Lord down immediately.
"Think of President Trump as the Martin Luther King of healthcare," Lord, posed in front of a framed Reagan photo, said. "When I was a kid, President Kennedy did not want to introduce the Civil Rights bill because he said it wasn't popular, he didn't have the votes for it, etc. Dr. King kept putting people in the streets in harm's way to put the pressure on, so that the bill would be introduced."
Sanders quickly prevented Lord from continuing down this WTF path, reminding him and the CNN viewing audience of the ridiculousness of such a comparison. "You do understand that Dr. King was marching for civil rights because people that look like me were being beaten," she said. "Dogs were being sicked on them. Basic human rights were being withheld from these people merely because of the color of their skin. So let's not equate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize winner, to the vagina-grabbing president Donald Trump."
Sanders wasn't the only one with a perfect reaction to Lord's fuckery:
Previously, Lord has made similarly nonsensical comparisons. In February, for example, Lord compared the Congressional Black Caucus to the Ku Klux Klan.
