If sex robots weren't already making masturbation a futuristic activity, virtual reality sure is.

Adult video-streaming site Pornhub just added a virtual reality section—and giving away goggles so customers can enjoy it.

The addition was announced in a tongue-in-cheek video featuring "bros" testing out the feature and calling it "the new immersive and fun experience that everyone in the whole family will enjoy."

The new videos, produced in conjunction with virtual reality company BaDoinkVR!, are viewable on Google Cardboard, Samsung Gear VR, and the Oculus Rift, according to Tech Crunch. Pornhub is giving away 10,000 virtual reality goggles so members can enjoy these new offerings.

Now with the evolution of technology, specifically around virtual reality, we’re able to enhance how users consume content.

"We’re all about the user experience. Since our inception, this has mostly been about offering different types of videos and categories for all users," Pornhub vice-president Corey Price told NTRSCTN in a statement. "Now with the evolution of technology, specifically around virtual reality, we’re able to enhance how users consume content. As of today, everyone with a virtual reality headset can experience this cutting-edge technology from the comfort of their own home… or bed."

Price also explained how the technology works: "VR uses one video per eye, which are viewed through lenses on a VR device or Google Cardboard. These lenses focus and reshape the picture for each eye and create a stereoscopic 3D image by angling the two 2D images to mimic how each of our two eyes views the world ever-so-slightly differently."

Virtual reality porn has been around for quite some time now, with porn site Naughty America releasing its first virtual reality scene last July.Mashable's Raymond Wong described testing it out: "Even though I was conscious that the two porn stars weren't actually there and that the guy's body wasn't really mine, I still thought they were real."

Be warned: As technology moves forward, porn-viewing may feel more real, but it won't make the scenes in the videos more realistic.
