Donald Trump, a millionaire running for president with questionable motives, has been stirring up media controversy and offending just about everyone since he launched his campaign last year. His divisive platform has been both heralded by a subset of conservatives and castigated by the liberal media. If there's one candidate whose presidential bid has made an impression of any kind, it's this one.

Evidently this has convinced someone, or a bunch of individuals, that this qualifies The Donald for a Nobel Peace Prize, an award generally reserved for people who're changing the course of history, like Malala Yousafzai and Nelson Mandela. Donald Trump is certainly doing something, but whether that deserves a Nobel Peace Prize is probably a matter of opinion.

What's important to remember here is that anyone can be nominated. Past sus nominees have included Vladimir PutinAdolf Hitler, and Fidel Castro, for example. And as Vox points out, "Hundreds of candidates normally reach the desk of the Norwegian Nobel Committee." Will Donald Trump actually win? Probably not. Is this still kind of a bummer? Yeah, definitely.
