David Haye has announced he'll make his return to the ring on December 10th.

The British heavyweight contender has had two quick victories since he returned to the ring at the start of 2016 after missing nearly four years through injury, against low-quality opponents Mark De Mori and Arnold Gjergjaj.

In his quest to reclaim a part of the world heavyweight crown, Haye was thought be to fighting trash-talking American Shannon Briggs in September – but now that opportunity has been and gone with little news from either camp, Haye has reemerged to build the hype for an upcoming bout in December.

Here's a small update. I'm fit, healthy & will be back in the ring on 10 Dec 2016. Opponent to be announced very soon. You'll be happy!😉👌🏾👊🏾

Early rumours indicate that if Haye isn't taking on Briggs as originally scheduled, he could step into the ring with current WBA heavyweight champion, Lucas Browne.

The 37-year-old won the WBA 'regular' heavyweight title – Haye's old belt – from Ruslan Chagaev earlier this year but is yet to make his first defence.

With 24 victories from 24 fights against boxers of a decent caliber, it would represent Haye's toughest test since he came out of retirement in January.

However, Browne is certainly seen as the most beatable of the current world heavyweight champions – Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua and even Tyson Fury or Wladimir Klitschko – so this is the fight Haye would have wanted to take to force megafights with the likes of Anthony Joshua in 2017.
