For Fall/Winter 2016, Puma have been working closely with the legendary DJ and sneaker historian Bobbito Garcia to give two of their classic silhouettes, the Suede Mid and Clyde, a New York street style rework.
Bobbito's legacy as a New York native and hip-hop legend makes him the perfect collaborator for Puma as they use these classic shoes to tell the story of playground basketball and New York street culture. His book 'Where'd You Get Those? New York City's Sneaker Culture: 1960-1987' is one of the key touchstones for the Suede Mid collaboration. Both sneakers also take inspiration from Garcia's basketball experience, with the Clyde featuring basketball slang on the innersole and upper quarter and a gold touch on the Suede Mid's mid upper.
