Someone Edited Stock Footage to Make It Look like the Work of Auteur Directors

Some of the footage is uncanny.

The website Shutterstock has put together a compilation video made from stock footage that resembles the work of famous directors.

The directors referenced in the video are Wes Anderson, David Fincher, Quentin Tarantino, Alfonso Cuarón, and Terrence Malick. The project is an interesting experiment in showing how the directors' visual styles vary, although some work better than others; the Anderson, Fincher, and Malick examples are pretty spot-on for example, while the Tarantino and Cuarón attempts are maybe a little off.

Still, it's a cool idea, and no doubt took some effort to put together—here's a link to the footage that was used.

Have a look at the video here.
