Another bad look for the Catholic church. Father Angel Armando Perez of St. Luke Catholic Church in Woodburn, OR, has been accused of molesting a 12-year-old boy, then chasing after the boy in his underwear when he escaped. The boy's parents left him with Perez after they were convinced Perez was taking him on a camping trip.

The boy stayed at Perez's house the night before the "hike," and he says they watched television and drank beer. He says he fell asleep, but when he woke, Perez was holding the boy's genitals in one hand while using the other to take pictures with his phone. After Perez went upstairs, the boy fled.

He began running down the street with Perez in hot pursuit, and eventually ran into James Curths and his sister-in-law Heather Rodriguez, begging them for help. Perez caught up, and, standing there in only his underwear, actually expected them to hand the boy over.

Perez then drove to the boy's house and apologized to his parents for his "mistake," encouraging them not to "stop believing in the church." Yeah, okay. He was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and abuse of a child in the display of sexually explicit conduct.
