Drake doesn't take naps, and that could be due to all of the caffeine in matcha green tea. According to reports from Food & Wine, the artist has become a (not so) private investor in a hip new green tea company called, MatchaBar. The startup only just launched in late 2014, but the New York-based brand has seen a considerable amount of growth and has already gained a steady group of customers.

MatchaBar recently signed a deal with Whole Foods to sell a specialty energy drink infused with matcha powder, and they celebrated the occasion by dropping a Drizzy bomb onto the internet. In a statement released to media earlier today, MatchaBar co-founder, Graham Fortgang, expressed his excitement regarding the coveted cosign and shared some thoughts about bringing Aubrey into the fold.

“We feel Drake not only embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of our brand," Fortgang begins, "but also our company's ethos 'good things come to those who hustle'". Along with dishing out their own green cocktails, MatchaBar also owns and operates trendy tea cafes in New York and Los Angeles, with two more shops slated to open later this year. As for Drake's own empire, it was revealed yesterday that the rapper's OVO retail store will take over a spot in Toronto's Yorkdale Shopping Centre.

There has yet to be an official word from Drake's camp about the deal, but let's just hope that MatchaBar will get an ad campaign as fun as the boy's other beverage venture, Virginia Black.
