Everywhere you turn (and click), people are throwing style advice at you. Celebrities are trying to influence you purely with their appearance, while bloggers and style writers try to sway you with the poetic nuances about camo, selvedge, and flecked midsoles. Some of it valuable, while a lot of it is bullshit because it's hard to trust an "authority" on style who is entirely lacking any of his own.
Sticking to their craft, whether it be comedy, lip-speeching or kicking dudes' noses in, should be the priority for these folks. Beware and check yourself if you are ever in danger of being influenced by these 10 People you Should Never Take Style Advice From.

Magicians
"Abracadabra! Watch my sense of style completely disappear!" Fedoras, puffy shirts and different shades of black are all shitty optical illusions of magicians or "illusionists" like David Blaine and Criss Angel. Keep predicting what wall a motorcycle is going to break through or holding your breath underwater for a week and leave the style tips to thhe pros, you freaks.
Exception: Harry Houdini
Republican Presidential Candidates
Whether it's dad-jeans-so-bad-they-look-like-mom-jeans or Crocodile Dundee hats, Republican Presidential candidates' style sucks. While Obama is swaggin' out of his liberal mind day in and out with style, these Conservative are skimping. Maybe if they took a little time away from defending guns and stifling marriage equality and put a little effort into their wardrobe, they might actually become more likable?
Exception: Barry Goldwater
UFC Fighters
Pretty self-explanatory: Between the engourged cauliflower ears and the Tapout/Affliction Clothing co-signs, the last thing UFC fighters should be worried about is giving style advice. If you're one of those numbskulls who is easily intimidated by other mall shoppers, this need'nt apply to you. You're a lost cause.
Exception: Anderson Silva
Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs
Silicone Valley Entrepeneurs are at the top of their profession, and at the top of the world, looking down upon everyone else. Including those of us with actual style. And we can already hear the complaints of, "they don't need to dress well, they're rich!" All the more reason to want to want to look dapper and not like a douche.
Exception: David Karp
Finance Bros
Frat bros becoming financial industry bros is the most common bro succession. Which means that the frat bro attire of ill-fitting polos and chinos transcends to ill-fitting suits, sloppy tie knots, and square-toed loafers. They still aren't concerned with keeping their style in tact as long as they're taking weekend trips to Nantucket for epic games of beer pong and "soggy biscuit."
Exception: Igor Kotlyar
Old White Comedians
When was the last time you thought, "man, Adam Sandler has really put together an ill fit"? Probably around the last time you thought, "man, Adam Sandler is really putting out some great movies." Because guys like him, Will Ferrell, Steve Martin and all the other old white comedians have never given two shits about style, just about making the same corny voices and girations.
Exception: Steve Martin
Women You Don't Sleep With
You don't truly have someone who loves you until they're are batshit jealous of any other women in your life. Including ones that may be supplying some sort of style advice. Why are you picking out shirts based on the opinions of the gal helping you at the shop? Is she the one letting you hit that night? Probably not, so don't let your boo find out, or else. Unless it's a stylish women on the Internet because "technically" they aren't real, right?
Exception: Style Girlfriend
Rappers-Turned-Movie-Stars
The "gangsta" style mentality has been a mainstay in hip-hop. Rappers like Ice Cube and Ludacris helped establish and perfect the aesthetic, but it's all but null and void once they decided to make films about driving around with children or popping Nos through a Subaru and drag racing. That ain't gangsta, bruh.
Exception: Andre 3000
Boy Scouts
The fashion industry, whether it's inhabitants are straight, gay, bi, or transgender, is definitely one thing: Tolerant (for the most part). Something the Boy Scouts of America's leadership is not. Plus, who wants style advice from someone rocking big ass neckerchiefs, patch-riddled sashes and high-waisted, pleated pants? Can't salute that shit.
Exception: John F. Kennedy, John Wayne
Anyone On the Internet
According to a study we just made up right now, 95% of internet-dwellers are broke, ugly and/or trolling. No one is who they say on the internet, so why should you trust anything they have to say? Creating your own style based on who you are, and not what other people tell you to be is key.
