Spring is finally here, and with that comes the requisite amount of designer collections and trends that every stylish dude aims to hop on. Be careful though, not all of them are what they're cracked up to be. In fact, some are so ridiculous that they make us sick—literally. We've been struggling with runny noses, coughing fits, and bouts of nausea trying to deal with how gross they are. After a few visits to the doctor, we're feeling a little better, but we remain wary of these 10 Spring Trends We're Allergic To.

Pleated Shorts
Were these ever a good idea? Flat front shorts are more flattering, easier for most guys to wear, and look fine on your dad or your little brother. That's just how versatile they are. Pleated shorts are just gross.
Too Many Prints
Oh word, you can look like a living, breathing, Magic Eye painting?! No thanks.
Shiny Knitwear
While hip-hop's shiny suit era is remembered fondly, it's best not to repeat it. Patent leather looks great on kicks or sporty outerwear pieces like varsities or bombers (and in moderation), but when it comes to stuff like cardigans, it's best to leave it to natural fabrics.
Leather Tank Tops
The leather tank is the badass version of the sweater vest. That is, both have no real reason to be worn. Kanye might have pulled it off in the "Birthday Song" music video, but chances are if you try to wear one of these in warm weather, the reason you'll be sweating isn't because of a popped Molly.
Shorts Suits
Sorry, you're not Nick Wooster. While some guys can pull off a casual, lightweight sportcoat (with no structure and details like patch pockets) with a pair of khaki or navy shorts and a polo, a full-on suit is just ridiculous. It's highly impractical on cooler days, and still inappropriate for the office. Menswear is partly about pragmatism, and this trend has zero practicality to it whatsoever.
Too Much Leopard
Here's the thing about leopard print: in moderation, it works. But when you have too much of it, you look like a '50s gigolo. It looks too much like corny loungewear when coordinated, so do yourself a favor and if you dig the pattern, stick to one piece.
Espadrilles
This type of shoe was pretty much rendered obsolete with the invention of the canvas sneaker. Just as comfortable but ten times more durable—rubber soles trump jute or rope soles any day—they also won't make you look like you're on permanent vacation in St. Tropez. Any advice relating to walking a mile in someone else's shoes is dead wrong if you're referring to espadrilles—these will probably fall apart by the third block.
Pajama Collars
This season we're seeing the awkward pajama collar pop up in designer collections like Dolce & Gabanna to streetwear-friendly labels like Supreme. A casual button-down collar is more versatile and less likely to flatten out like a pancake, which happens way too often with collars like this.
Ascots
Who do you think you are, Fred from Scooby Doo? You know what happens when you wear an ascot... you make an ass out of yourself.
Mandals
Man toes are pretty much the grossest thing in the world and should be hidden away when possible. Not to mention, no one has successfully pulled them off since like, Jesus. And perhaps Roman gladiators, but rumor has it that the real reason they killed each other was because wearing mandals is a justifiable cause for murder.
