AnnaWintour is being considered by BarackObama to be the next ambassador to either the U.K. or France, sources close to the matter say. As one of the President's top fund-raisers in the recent election, the Vogue editor is in a position that is usually rewarded with an ambassadorship to a posh country. Born in the U.K. and now a U.S. citizen, Wintour raised enough money through her celebrity-attended dinners to become one of Obama's top 10 fund-raisers, the same sources say.
But it doesn't seem like Wintour will be leaving the top spot at Vogue anytime soon. A spokeswoman for Vogue said that Wintour is not interested in a diplomatic appointment. “She’s very happy with her current job,” the spokeswoman said.
