It's one of hip hop's biggest nights. From the cyphers to the live performances, the BET Hip Hop Awards show is a major talking point for the next few days; who killed it, who flopped—and who looked like they got dressed in the dark before they hit the red carpet.
Sure, some of the outfits that were chosen were...a little bizarre, but some of the big names came out and killed the style game, either by taking risks or sticking to the classics (looking at you French). To see who came out and dressed it up, and who looked like they were hitting a cookout instead of an awards show, these are The Best and Worst Dressed at the 2014 BET Hip Hop Awards.
RELATED: The Best Dressed Men of 2016
Worst: Young Thug
It really is dope that Young Thug is constantly out there challenging the common perception of how rappers dress, but with jeans slung so low and tight, hip-hop's resident weirdo looks like a centaur.
Best: 2 Chainz
Here is where weirdness and opulence meet in harmony. A Versace version of a karate gi? There are, like, two other dudes in hip-hop that can pull this off.
Worst: YG
Taken individually, YG's fire-red kicks, crisp white tee, and gold pieces are all dope. But combined with baby blue shorts and white tube socks just looks off while posing on a red (green) carpet. YG's obviously rocking a classic West Coast 'fit, but it's more at home in the streets than at an awards show.
Best: Michael K. Williams
This broke the DGAF meter.
Worst: Busta Rhymes
Brolic Busta continues his penchant for wack denim and Starburst-inspired shirts. The least he could do is grab a steamer before hitting the red carpet.
Best: Snoop Dogg/Snoop Lion/Uncle Snoop
MC of the evening Snoop looking very relaxed and casual as Twitter takes down anyone trying to throw shots his way.
Worst: Yung Joc
Yung Joc's style? It's goin' down.
Best: Nelly
When you have to sit through multiple hours of "freestyles" and small children doing the Shmoney dance, you're definitely going to want to stay cozy. Nelly took it back to the early '00s with this velour tracksuit that somehow doesn't make him look like it was inspired by a Jersey housewife.
Worst: Rich Homie Quan
Why do celebs always try to do the no-shirt-under-the-jacket thing? Only way it works is if you're rocking with Kim K assets.
Best: Lil Terio
Stay Puft Marshmallow Man type swag somehow Shmoney dancing out here. Props to Terio for combining a coke boy look with a supersized Coca-Cola boy lifestyle.
Worst: T.I.
You know how your computer crashes when there are too many tabs open and applications running and too much data trying to be processed? Here's the IRL version.
Best: Lil Boosie
It's still just refreshing to see Boosie living life, so it's even more of a bonus when he comes through looking extra fresh.
