Doug Aitken and Levi's Present the "Station to Station" Roaming Art Project (Video)

This September with the support of Levi's Brand, Doug Aitken will launch a public art project entitled "Station to Station: A Nomadic Happening." An Aitken designed train will travel across the country from New York City to San Francisco over the course of three weeks, making stops in ten cities along the way. Each stop will feature scheduled "happenings" and collaborations with various artists, chefs, musicians, and other creatives including Urs Fischer, Christian Jankowski, Aaron Koblin, Ernesto Neto, Jack Pierson, Alice Waters, Rick Moody, Rirkrit Tiravanija, Kenneth Anger, Olaf Breuning, Peter Coffin, and a host of others with even more to be announced throughout the summer. 

In addition to bringing art to these ten cities, Aitken and Levi's will raise funding through ticket sales and donations to support "non-traditional programming" at various museums throughout the United States.
