Artist Lee Hadwin is a curious case for the doctors and scientists who have studied him because he has a very unique talent; he can only draw while he is asleep.
According to The Independent, Hadwin has been drawing in his sleep since he was 4 years old, and no one really knows why. "A lot of doctors and psychologists put it down to trauma," said the artist in the interview, "but there was no trauma in my life before I was four-years-old. I did lose some friends when I was twelve, but I don’t think it was that." Hadwin has tried to create during the day while he is awake and can't. Doctors at the Edinburgh Sleep Clinic once told his parents to "let him carry on," and for the past two decades he has taken that advice, producing over 600 paintings and drawings.
Donald Trump is a collector of Hadwin's work, and the artist recently sold three of his Monroe pieces to The Marilyn Monroe Museum in Hollywood for over $6,000, so maybe you should sleep with a pencil and paper nearby tonight.
