Janette Beckman is a badass. That much, the world already knows from the British documentary photographer's portfolio. She has shot everything from bands like The Ramones and The Clash to Afrika Bambaataa, Run DMC, and EPMD to the gangs and bikers of Los Angeles.

An upcoming exhibition presented by Pop-Up Art Event will revisit some of Beckman's most iconic images of rising hip-hop stars and visual arists she photographed in New York back in the 1980s. Except, "Janette Beckman Hip Hop Mash Up 2014" sees over 10 graffiti writers reinterpreting Beckman's photography. So far, Pop-Up Art Event has shared sneak peek images of Alice Mizrachi and Cey Adams' works.

"Janette Beckman Hip Hop Mash Up 2014" opens tonight at Beckman Studios at 6 p.m.
