Back in July, Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy was accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend's friend. Two months later, it has been revealed that he reportedly won't face criminal charges from the police or punishment from the NFL.
Sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport that the police department in Milton, Georgia, where the incident reportedly happened do not "have enough evidence to charge" McCoy. Therefore, unless additional evidence comes up, they plan on not pursuing charges against the NFL player. This news means he's "unlikely to be suspended" from the NFL.
A graphic photo of McCoy's ex-girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, was posted online showing Cordon with a bruised, bloody, and swollen face. The now-deleted photo was reportedly posted by Cordon's friend, user @miamor_i_adore. Cordon later filed a lawsuit accusing McCoy of abusing his son and dog and being behind a home invasion attack that left her severely injured.
McCoy denied the allegations at the time and said he hadn't seen Cordon for several months.
"For the record, the totally baseless and offensive claims made against me today on social media are completely false," read his now-deleted Instagram post. "Furthermore, I have not had any direct contact with any of the people involved in months," he said. He has since continued to deny the allegations.
