You don't know the sport of racing until you've around been on a real track at 160 mph.

You can’t properly cover what you’ve never experienced. That’s what auto writing is all about: the experience. You drive a car and then you talk about what you felt and what your time with the car was like. We’ve touched a few times on IndyCar here at Complex, interviewing top names like Dario Franchitti, Scott Dixon, and Tony Kanaan. Up until now, we’ve let them tell us what it’s like to drive an open-wheel car at an average speed of 190 mph for hours. Recently, I was able to (sort of) change my perspective by taking a backseat ride in a two-seat IndyCar with Sarah Fisher in the driver’s seat.
For those who don’t know, Sarah Fisher is one of the greatest female drivers to floor a gas pedal. The 33-year-old has raced in the Indy 500 nine times and she became the team founder and owner of Sarah Fisher Racing in 2008. That made her the youngest IndyCar Series owner in history and and the first female team owner. Not only was this the first time I took a ride in an IndyCar, but it was also the first time she’s been back in a car since her retirement. Check out the face-melting action above.
