The Miami Heat haven't lost since February 1 when they dropped a game against the Indiana Pacers. Since then the South Beach crew has gone on a historic run of 22 games in a row. They've passed teams like the '99-'00 Lakers, '70-'71 Bucks, '48-'49 Washington Capitols, and tied the '07-'08 Rockets on the list of squads with the longest winning streaks in NBA history. The team at the top is the '71-'72 Lakers who set the current record of 33 straight wins. That year's Lake Show included Hall of Famers Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, Pat Riley (*cues the soundtrack*), and Gail Goodrich. They went on to win the NBA Finals against the New York Knicks.
Are the Heat about that life? It certainly seems like it. As they press on toward NBA history we'll be running our weekly "Heat Check" series to give our thoughts on the probability of a team ending Miami's streak.
@ Boston
Date: Monday, 3/18
Opponent Record: 36-29 (7th in the East)
Season Series: Tied 1-1
Chance Of The Streak Ending: 40%
The Celtics are 29-4 at home this year but with no Rondo and Kevin Garnett being a game-time decision, it'll be pretty tough or Boston to pull this off. Maybe if this game went down yesterday and Lil Flip showed up for the halftime performance?
@ Cleveland
Date: Wednesday, 3/20
Opponent Record: 22-44 (13th in the East)
Season Series: Miami 2 Cleveland 0
Chance Of The Streak Ending: 15%
This match-up would be tough even if the Cavs were playing at their full potential. With Kyrie Irving out due to injury this struggle squad can expect a blowout.
vs. Detroit
Date: Friday, 3/22

Season Series: Miami 2 Detroit 1
Chance Of The Streak Ending: 25%
Detroit has yet to win a game this month. #theylosttothehornets #nuffsaid
