Brennan Williams was selected by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, but after spending his rookie season on injured reserve and being out of football entirely in 2014, he's struggled to find a home on any team's roster.

Williams was briefly signed to the practice squad of the New England Patriots last week, but practiced with the team just once and was released a couple of days later.

All of this likely made walking away from football an easy decision for Brennan, who will now pursue a career in professional wrestling. TMZ has the details:

TMZ Sports spoke with Brennan Williams ... who's decided to call it quits on a 3 year NFL career as a lineman for the Texans, Jaguars, and Patriots so he can take a shot at pro wrestling.

Brennan has evidently been a huge wrestling fan for years, and is so excited about the prospect of joining the WWE that he's already posting potential uniform designs.
