Two freshman football players at Indiana State University were among the three students killed in fiery a car accident over the weekend, ESPN reports.

The accident took place around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the small town of Riley, which is located 10 miles from the university’s Terre Haute campus. The three students killed have been identified as Christian Eubanks, 18, of Waukegan, Illinois; Jayden Musili, 19, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and Caleb VanHooser, 19, of Liberty Township, Ohio.

Eubanks and VanHooser, both freshman, were players on Indiana State University’s football team. A 20-year-old, of Lafayette, and a 19-year-old, of Wheaton, Illinois, were also injured in the crash.

“There are no words to express the depth of our sadness about this tragedy,” Indiana State University President Dr. Deborah J. Curtis said in a statement. “We send our condolences to the family and friends of the students involved. The Sycamore family is mourning and will support each other in this time of grief.”

Indiana State University football coach Curt Mallory shared his condolences in a statement. “It is a terrible day for Indiana State football and a devastating loss for both the Eubanks and the VanHooser families.” Mallory said in a statement. “Both young men were quality individuals who were loved and respected by their teammates and this staff. To say they will be missed is an understatement.
