In troubling news out of Chicago, a fan appeared to fall from the Wrigley Field bleachers onto the field during a rain delay at tonight's Chicago Cubs vs. Atlanta Braves game.

The fan lay face down on the warning track and didn't move for about 15 minutes, according to people tweeting from the game. Broadcaster Kevin Kugler tweeted that the fan "appeared to be awake" as he was loaded onto a stretcher. It took three medics to turn the man onto his back, according to The Washington Post.

Bleacher guy update at Wrigley....appeared to be awake as they loaded him onto a cart on a stretcher and took him away.

A basket protects fans from falling onto the warning track. As this piece points out, it's difficult to envision a fan falling past it.

Though details at this point are sparse, the following tweets give a fuller picture of what happened.
