PUMA just delivered a black and white classic for Newcastle United fans.
With just two weeks to go until the start of the 2018/19 Premier League season, the Toon Army are the latest club to be kitted out for the new campaign and PUMA's latest drop for the club is one of the cleanest takes on the classic stripes in recent memory.
To announce the kit, PUMA linked up with BAFTA award-winning and lifelong Magpies fan Kema Kay in an an inspiring short-form video, entitled #TheBeatOfNewcastle, which celebrates the club’s proud place as the beating heart of Tyneside. The film sees 'I, Daniel Blake' actor Kema recite a poem, written by a Newcastle fan, that captures the spirit of match day. The film dropped as part of the new 'Beat of the City' campaign ahead of the new season.
The kit itself is inspired by classic Newcastle United kits and features a narrower black and white stripe than previous seasons. The addition of traditional red player names and numbers are a nod to the club’s history and complete the throwback design.
