Rather than pull from a few sheets of what a factory vendor swears is "premium leather," Converse teamed up with a direct source renowned for their fine leather goods. Horween, one of the oldest tanneries in America, supplied its rich proprietary Chromexcel leather in burgundy for the newest release from Converse First String.

The Horween edition of the Dr. J Pro Leather, an iconic silhouette for Converse Basketball worn of course by Julius Erving, is limited to just 360 pairs and features a burgundy leather upper, black leather lining and laces, and a gold foil "Dr. J" stamp along the midfoot. Priced at $90, they're available now at select retailers like Compound.
